Put 1 pound/500 grams of ground meat or ground beef, 1-2 eggs and your choice of spices/vegetables/cheese or whatever you like to add in a bowl. Blend the ingredients together with your hands. I like to use salt, pepper, tomato cheese, garlic and onion.

Make small cakes or burgers and fry them in a pan.

Fårikål is a traditional Norwegian dish made of pieces of mutton, cabbage, whole black pepper, salt and wheat flour cooked in a casserole for several hours. Traditionally it is served with boiled potatoes. This dish is very easy to cook and can easily be turned into a great low carb recipe by making it without wheat flour and skipping the potatoes. Some low carbers like to serve fårikål with cauliflower instead of potatoes.

Instead of posting the instructions here, I am adding a link to a great video I found on youtube.

This is the first time I have made meat loaf and definitely not the last, I will make a large oven pan next time. I may not add so much cream as a lot of it seems to seep out when it is fried, but the broth is great to use for a sauce.

Ingredients:
500 grams (1.1 pound) of ground meat
200 grams (7 ounces) of cream
200 grams (7 ounces) of shredded cheese
2 eggs
1 chopped or mashed onion
2 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C (392 F).
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Put the batter in a loaf pan or shape into a loaf and put it in a baking pan.
Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes.
