Eggs and bacon

Fried or scrambled eggs and bacon must be the classical low carb recipe and what journalists like to use as an illustration when they write about the Atkins diet. Contrary to popular belief saturated fat is not unhealthy. I will write more about this in another section of my site later, but for now if you’re worried about eating saturated fat, I recommend reading the book Life Without Bread by Christian B. Allan and Wolfgang Lutz.

One egg contains about 0.5 gram of carbohydrate, so this breakfast is very low carb. Here’s a picture of today’s breakfast, fried eggs with chives and bacon.
